is the Old Testament still relevant today?

Is the Old Testament relevant to Christian's today?


Simple answer: YES it is.


some people argue saying that we are not under the law of the old testament...and I DO agree with that....christians are saved by Jesus....we are not bound by following old testament law as a means of salvation....
now I believe that the Law is still relevant today, NOT as a means of getting to heaven because Jesus is the only way to heaven, but when we accept Jesus we want to do the will of God, and His will is for us to do good, that means honoring our parents, not stealing, not coveting, I believe that the law is a guidline showing us how to do good, not a way to heaven, but a way to show people the light of God by our actions....


BUT the old testament isnt ALL law....the law is only a small part of the Old Testament, the rest of it is filled with prophecy, and encouragement.
God gave us the whole Bible, it's all there to teach and encourage us....PLUS if we didnt' have the old testament we wouldnt know how God prepared the way for Jesus to come into the world.


The Bible says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). 


so ask yourself in general....what good is only reading half a book? when you read a book normally you read all of it....the same goes for the bible....


now the small part of the law, Jesus fulfilled that, and we are not bound by it, rather we are freed....with this freedom sometimes a person can get the thought in their head that he can sin knowingly and God will forgive...now that may be true, BUT when we accept Jesus, we want our life changed, and I believe that by following the guidlines of the law we do good...and the goodness pleases God and then He blesses us, we dont need the law for salvation, but we do need it as a guidline for goodness, in learning God's will for our life and showing others the love of God, now Jesus said to Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself....by doing those things you are actually obeying God's old testament law...when you do these things, your dont steal, kill, covet, or commit adultry, etc, so in fact by following the comandments that Jesus said to follow you are in fact following old testament comandments as well.......


But what about the rest of the old testament? psalms, proverbs, the prophecy? all of it is alive and relevant today...I know this from experience, God's world is alive and relevant today....ALL of it.


yes the New testament brings us the salvation of Jesus Christ....BUT the Old testament shows us the path leading up to it....


so the whole bible is living and relevant even today.

How Can Jesus be both God and man at the same time?

Question: "How can Jesus be both God and man at the same time?"

Answer: The hypostatic union is the term used to describe how God the Son, Jesus Christ, took on a human nature, yet remained fully God at the same time. Jesus always had been God (John 8:58,10:30), but at the incarnation Jesus became a human being (John 1:14). The addition of the human nature to the divine nature is Jesus, the God-man. This is the hypostatic union, Jesus Christ, one Person, fully God and fully man.

Jesus' two natures, human and divine, are inseparable. Jesus will forever be the God-man, fully God and fully human, two distinct natures in one Person. Jesus' humanity and divinity are not mixed, but are united without loss of separate identity. Jesus sometimes operated with the limitations of humanity (John 4:6, 19:28) and other times in the power of His deity (John 11:43; Matthew 14:18-21). In both, Jesus' actions were from His one Person. Jesus had two natures, but only one personality.

The doctrine of the hypostatic union is an attempt to explain how Jesus could be both God and man at the same time. It is ultimately, though, a doctrine we are incapable of fully understanding. It is impossible for us to fully understand how God works. We, as human beings with finite minds, should not expect to totally comprehend an infinite God. Jesus is God’s Son in that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35). But that does not mean Jesus did not exist before He was conceived. Jesus has always existed (John 8:58, 10:30). When Jesus was conceived, He became a human being in addition to being God (John 1:1, 14).

Jesus is both God and man. Jesus has always been God, but He did not become a human being until He was conceived in Mary. Jesus became a human being in order to identify with us in our struggles (Hebrews 2:17) and, more importantly, so that He could die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins (Philippians 2:5-11). In summary, the hypostatic union teaches that Jesus is both fully human and fully divine, that there is no mixture or dilution of either nature, and that He is one united Person, forever.

There has been a lot going on with Israel this weekend...the terror group Hamas and the palestinians have been launching rockets and mortars into Israel, a few people have been killed and many have been wounded....
Hamas had implemented a cease-fire, but shortly after that started they broke it by firing more rockets into israel

I had this tested today.....someone who called himself my friend got very angry at me for no good reason and he started cussing and insulting me, calling me stupid and all that....of course the reason why he got angry was very small and a silly reason to get mad at someone...espeshly at someone you suposedly call a friend....he wanted to chat with me on yahoo voice and I had said no....well this is not the first time this has happened between him and I....after the first time he got mad at me for no good reason I made it quite clear that I did forgive him but I didnt ever want to talk with him on mic. anyway back to today's incident....when he was cussing at me and saying all sorts of hurtful things, my human side [the sinful humanly flesh] wanted so bad to rear its ugly head and cuss him out and say hurtful things right back....I almost did too.....but I didn't....I prayed, and I kept my cool no matter what he said to me before I left the conversation....I stayed kind, no matter what he said to me....


One thing that we need to remember, when we become followers of Jesus Christ we want to show others His Love and Mercy, but sometimes someone will come along and tempt us to show our sinful side [by saying mean things back or something like that] and yes we will make mistakes, we will lose our tempers, no matter how much we try we are not perfect....BUT we serve a God who is....if we ask Him to He will calm us in times when we might lose our temper, and He can keep us from temptation....sometimes though we want to accept the temptation and that is when we mess up and sin....but He forgives us and we again ask Him to guild us and keep us from temptation....the important thing that we need to do is when people come into our lives and they and rude, hurtful or mean to us, let them be....dont stoop to their level....instead try praying for them, in doing that you will show them kindness.


anyway I wanted to share this little bit of information, hopefully it will help someone the same way it did me.

double standards....

I find it quite interesting and very funny when people tell me that their religion is peaceful but then they turn right around and say hostile things...

for example, on yahoo messenger I have the Israel flag displayed in my main picture, because I support Israel....well I'm guessing one of my muslim friends didnt like it [well they all hate it, and I have had them tell me (not ask) to take it down, but I'm talking about this incident today] because he IMed me and the first words he sends me is: "F*** you Israel"

 hmmmm....ok well if he is representing his religion
[and we all are, when we say that we're muslim or christian or hindu or whatever, and we do something either good or bad, people will see our representation of our beliefs through our actions....]
then people might think that his religion is as hostile as he is....of course I could go into the quran and show you all the hostile and NON-peaceful verses there are....but yeah that's for another day...but when you say your religion is peaceful but yet you go around saying hostile things to people....that is a double standard, and it makes people think that hmmm maybe his religion isnt as peaceful as he wants us to think it is....

now I will use myself as an example now....my faith really is peaceful, Jesus tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, he says if someone does something wrong to you, turn the other cheek, etc etc etc...now I admit I'm NOT perfect [no one is] I do make mistakes, I get mad, it's all part of being human....

BUT I do not HATE people.....

I dont care what you do, I may not like you....but I will never hate you....I do not go around spreading hate....yes I speak the truth....but I ALWAYS try to do it with Love....I do not go around "bashing" muslims

[even though some people think I do here, thats not true....I do my research, and I post the truth with evidence, you can make up your own mind I am just making the truth available]
and even in this post, I'm not "bashing" a certain religion....this same concept goes for christians and any other belief system that says they are one thing, if you say your religion is peaceful, and you are devoted to it....then do NOT have a double standard...
now if your religion says to fight unbelievers, or whatever....quit trying to pass it off as a religion of peace because last I checked in the dictionary....peace did NOT mean to fight those who disagree with you....now I'm not saying to go out and do those things....NO WAY....I am saying dont try to say it's peaceful when it's really not.....

now I've known of fellow christians who have held this same double standard, they are all nice and peaceful in church on sunday....but then come monday they are partying and doing drugs and other things that dont glorify God....a lot of people dont realize that when we do things....we are representing God, and our beliefs....

anyway so I wanted to share my thoughts on this, and hopefully some people will realize that either they need to quit saying their religion is something that its NOT....OR they need to show people that it is the peaceful belief that they say they believe in.....

just some food for thought....

God promises that we can have this peace,  when we choose to follow Jesus, He comes into our life and He gives us hope, and He gives us a wonderful peace because we now know that our eternal life is secured, we accepted God's gift and we WILL go to heaven when we die. so since we live with Jesus in our life we have true peace....


everyone wants peace, at Miss america they all say they want world peace [just an example] people are always talking about world peace this and world peace that....other religions try to work to obtain peace....and with all the hardships in the world people are looking for peace...


well the peace that God is talking about in the bible, and offering is beyond ANYTHING that we [mere humans] can understand....I have to say that sounds much BETTER then anything that other religions or the world tries to offer...God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and perfect....He can do anything....He's God.....so we don't have to exactly understand everything He does, because if we did...then He wouldn't be God...so I'm okay with not understanding every bit of God.....


-I'm okay with not fully understanding 3 persons = 1 GOD....[i.e. The Trinity]
-I'm okay with not fully understaning HOW Jesus could come to earth and be fully human and yet fully GOD...[i.e. John 1:1 and 1:14]
-I'm okay with not fully understanding when God is going to come back [i.e. NO ONE knows when]
-and I am okay with not fully understanding the peace that God gives me....


let God be God....we are not....so we cannot fully understand everything that He does....that's okay though...that's where trusting Him comes in....


so if you want true peace even if you don't fully understand it....accept His gift, and ask Him for His peace in your life....

Is Muhammad prophesied in the Bible?

Was Muhammad prophesied in the Bible as a prophet of God?


I have many Muslim friends again trying to tell me that He is mentioned in the Bible and that he was prophesied as a prophet of God and even the quran says that He's in the bible.


"Those who follow the Messenger, The unlettered Prophet, Whom they find mentioned In their own (Scriptures)—In the Law and the Gospel— ... It is they who will prosper. (Qur’an 7:157)"


so I ask this question.....WHAT IF he really ISNT in the Bible?


well I have already given EVIDENCE in previous posts about how the Bible today is 99.5% THE SAME as it was in ancient times....so if He really wasnt prophesied in the Bible like he claims in the quran....then my only reasoning is that the quran is false....both books cannot be right....because they contradict eachother, the bible clearly says that Jesus is MORE then a "mere prophet" but the quran says that Jesus was nothing more then a prophet...so they contradict eachother....only ONE is the truth...the other is false...so the quran says that muhammad was prophesied in the bible as a prophet of god....let's take a look at these verses that Muslims claim talk about muhammad....


the first verses are: "Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." (Genesis 12:1-3)


they combine this verse with the one below, making it seem like this is a prophecy proclaiming the birth of islam...

"And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation." (Genesis 17:20)

Genesis 17:20 is taken OUT of context though....here is what the verse sounds like when we read it in CONTEXT....

 So Abraham said to God, “May Ishmael live under your special blessing!”

 But God replied, “No—Sarah, your wife, will give birth to a son for you. You will name him Isaac, and I will confirm my covenant with him and his descendants as an everlasting covenant. As for Ishmael, I will bless him also, just as you have asked. I will make him extremely fruitful and multiply his descendants. He will become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. But my covenant will be confirmed with Isaac, who will be born to you and Sarah about this time next year.” When God had finished speaking, he left Abraham." Genesis 17:18-22


when you read it in the Context it is intended you see that God was confirming His EVERLASTING covenant with Isaac [i.e. Israel] Abraham first thought that Ishmael would be the son who was to recieve God's Special blessing [because he was the "firstborn"] BUT God clarified, He made it clear that Isaac would be the one to recieve the special blessing....He's God...He's allowed to do these things....I try not to put God in a box....so this is not a prophecy about muhammad of islam....

Second Verse:

"The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; according to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. (Deuteronomy 18:15-19)"

First, the passage says that God will raise up a prophet like Moses, because the Israelites didn’t want to speak directly with God. The Israelites said, "Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God ... that I die not," and God replied, "They have well spoken that which they have spoken." Hence, when verse 18:15 is taken in context, we see that the Jews were asking for a mediator, someone to stand between them and God just as Moses did. The ultimate fulfillment of this passage would be someone who stands as a permanent mediator between God and man. While Muhammad could certainly be viewed as an intermediary of some sort, the passage seems to fit more comfortably if the Prophet is Jesus. At best, one could argue that Muhammad was a link in the chain of transmission from the Qur’an, from Allah, to Gabriel, to Muhammad, to mankind. But this doesn’t fulfill the prophecy. Muslims don’t believe in the sort of mediator required by Deuteronomy 18. In Christianity, however, Jesus is a permanent mediator: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time" (1 Timothy 2:5-6).

Next, Moses says that God will raise up a prophet "from the midst of thee." Since he is talking to Israelites, it sounds as if God is telling them that he will raise up a prophet from the midst of Israel. In any case, Muhammad surely wasn’t raised up from the midst of Jews. Jesus, on the other hand, was born and raised in Israel, so the context again fits more comfortably if Moses is referring to Jesus.

Third, although Muslims often claim that the term "brethren" must refer to the Ishmaelites, the Book of Deuteronomy shows that this claim is completely false. To be sure, "brethren" can be used to refer to people other than the Jews, and it is used in this manner with the Edomites earlier in Deuteronomy (see 2:4). However, the term "brethren" is most commonly used when referring to other Israelites:

If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thy heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother. (Deuteronomy 15:7)

That this verse refers to fellow Israelites is clear from the verses that follow, for Moses tells his listeners not to ignore the brother just because the year for canceling debts is near (the year of debt-cancellation was meant for fellow Israelites).

So this verse when again read in CONTEXT is NOT refering to muhammad in the least....it is refering to Jesus....

Fourth, the conclusion of the Book of Deuteronomy tells us how we should interpret Moses’ phrase "like unto me":

And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses. And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, in all the signs and wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land, and in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel. (Deuteronomy 34:9-12)

Here the phrase "like unto Moses" suggests a prophet who would speak with God face to face and perform signs and wonders "in the sight of all Israel." Muhammad doesn’t fit either of these criteria. He claimed to have received his revelations from Gabriel, not directly from God, and he admittedly could not perform miracles.^[10]Jesus, however, both performed miracles (as even the Qur’an acknowledges^[11]) and spoke directly with God:

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. (John 5:19-20)

Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lift up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. (John 8:28)

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. (John 12:49)

He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. (John 14:24)

Finally, while Muslims appeal to Deuteronomy 18:15-19 as evidence for their prophet, they would do well to read the next verse, which, when combined with a certain embarrassing event from Muhammad’s life, turns out to be proof against the prophet of Islam. In Deuteronomy 18:20, God declares:

But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

Here God gives us two criteria for recognizing a false prophet: (1) If a person delivers a revelation which doesn’t come from God, the person is a false prophet; and (2) if a person speaks in the name of other gods, the person is a false prophet. Interestingly, Muhammad meets both criteria, for he delivered the infamous "Satanic Verses" (i.e. verses he gave to his followers as part of the Qur’an but later claimed were inspired by Satan). Since these verses did not come from God, Muhammad meets the first criterion. And since the verses promoted polytheism, Muhammad meets the second criterion as well. Hence, the very passage that Muslims claim as their primary Biblical prophecy about Muhammad turns out to proclaim that Muhammad can’t be a prophet at all! 

Muslims argue that this prophecy could only have been fulfilled by Muhammad, who, like Moses, was a lawgiver, a prophet, and a military leader. Further, this Prophet was to come from the brethren of the Israelites, which must be a reference to the Ishmaelites (Muhammad’s purported ancestors), for Ishmael was the brother of Isaac, the father of Israel. These facts, along with other similarities between Muhammad and Moses, support the identification of "the Prophet" with Muhammad.

If we were to take Deuteronomy 18:15 by itself, completely ignoring the rest of the book, we might have some reason to agree with the Muslim apologists on this issue. However, even a cursory examination of the context of this prophecy demonstrates the flaws in the Islamic position.

Third Verse:


"If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (John 14:15-18)

These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:25-26)

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: and ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. (John 15:26-27)"

Muslims believe these verses are talking about muhammad...but these clearly are talking about the Holy Spirit,  who is also named in John 14:26-27...

because,  Jesus says that the Comforter would be with his disciples forever. In no sense was Muhammad ever with Jesus’ disciples, let alone with them permanently. 

according to the prophecy, the world cannot receive the Comforter because it cannot see him. Thousands of people saw Muhammad during his lifetime, for he was visible. Thus, the invisible Comforter cannot be the visible Muhammad. 

Jesus tells the disciples that the Comforter was already with them. While the Holy Spirit was with Jesus’ disciples, Muhammad wasn’t born for more than five centuries after this prophecy and therefore couldn’t have been with them. 

the Comforter was to be in the disciples. Muhammad is not in Jesus’ followers and never will be. The Holy Spirit, on the other hand, filled the believers at Pentecost and has been in Christians ever since. 

Jesus said that he would send the Comforter from the Father. Muslims do not believe that Muhammad was sent by Jesus; they believe that Muhammad was sent by God. So, unless Muslims are willing to admit that Jesus is God, they should not accept this as a prophecy about Muhammad. 

Finally, prior to his ascension, Jesus predicted that his followers would "be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence" (Acts 1:5). The Holy Spirit came to Jesus’ followers shortly after his ascension to the Father:

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:1-4)

Thus, the fulfillment of this prophecy came within a matter of days. Muhammad came more than five hundred years later.

Putting all of this together, we see that Muhammad could not have been the Comforter. He was not with the apostles, he was not in the apostles, he was not with them forever, he was not invisible, he was not sent by Jesus, and he did not come quickly, as Jesus said he would. Yet the Holy Spirit matches this description perfectly. Jesus identified the Comforter as the Holy Spirit, who was with the disciples, was in them at Pentecost, was invisible, came quickly, was sent by Jesus, and has been with Christians for nearly two thousand years. Given the facts, Muslims who apply these verses to Muhammad should be ashamed of themselves.

Now there are TRUE prophecies about muhammad....These verses need not be applied solely to Muhammad. Yet, without a doubt, Muhammad is a fulfillment of many New Testament prophecies. 

Consider the following passages drawn from the New Testament:

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? (Matthew 7:15-16)

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall arise, and shall deceive many. (Matthew 24:9-11)

And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:14-15)

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron. (1 Timothy 4:1-2)

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

First, Jesus said that false prophets come in sheep’s clothing, but are actually ravening wolves. Muhammad fits this criterion better than anyone else in history. He convinced his followers that he was the greatest moral example in history, yet he murdered countless people, took part in the slave trade, allowed husbands to beat their wives, allowed his men to have sex with their female slaves, had at least nine wives at one time, admittedly proclaimed verses from Satan, and had sex with a nine-year-old girl. If Muhammad doesn’t fulfill Jesus’ prophecy, then who does?

Next, Jesus said that false prophets would arise, and that they would deceive many. There are currently more than a billion Muslims in the world, and Islam is one of the world’s fastest growing religions. This means that Muhammad is the greatest false prophet of all time, and the most obvious fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy.

Third, the Apostle Paul said that Satan masquerades as an angel of light. If Muhammad had been aware of this, perhaps he would have trusted his first instinct when a spirit claiming to be Gabriel suddenly appeared to him. (Muhammad’s first impression of his revelations was that he was under demonic attack) This is a clear fulfillment of Paul’s words.

Fourth, Paul said that people would give heed to "seducing spirits" and "doctrines of devils." Muhammad’s infamous "Satanic Verses" provide a striking example of this. The Prophet of Islam received revelations saying that it was okay for his followers to pray to gods besides Allah. Later, he claimed that Satan had put those words on his lips.Muhammad was therefore seduced by the doctrines of Satan, just as Paul predicted.

Fifth, Paul predicted that a time would come when people would not listen to sound doctrine. Instead, they would turn their ears away from the truth and listen to fables. An application of this prophecy can be made to Muslims today. While there are many Muslims who seek the truth, there are also many who don’t seem to care where the evidence points. Instead of acknowledging that Islam is an untenable religion, they go to teachers like Jamal Badawi and Shabir Ally, who tell them what they want to hear.

These prophecies may all be applied to Muhammad and to Islam. Thus, when Muhammad claimed that other messengers of God had prophesied about him, he was correct. The problem is that these messengers predicted the rise of false prophets, not the rise of a new religion after Christianity. Tragically, most people haven’t heeded the warnings of the prophets. To this day, many even reject the words of Christ. Yet when a man rises from the dead, vindicated by God, everyone should listen to what he says. And when this risen man tells us that false prophets will come, we should probably be suspicious of anyone claiming to be a prophet—especially one with Muhammad’s character flaws. Indeed, in addition to his other flaws, Muhammad is guilty rejecting one of the clearest prophecies in history, a prophecy about the death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth:

Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, And as a root out of a dry ground: He hath no form nor comeliness; And when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid as it were our faces from him; He was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows: Yet we did esteem him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned every one to his own way; And the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, Yet he opened not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: And who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the land of the living: For the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, And with the rich in his death; Because he had done no violence, Neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: When thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, He shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; For he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, And he shall divide the spoil with the strong; Because he hath poured out his soul unto death: And he was numbered with the transgressors; And he bare the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors. (Isaiah 53:1-12)


Now looking at these verses in the bible and seeing that when read in CONTEXT that have nothing to do with islam or muhammad....I conclude that the Bible is fully true....of course you already know what that means for the quran....it claimed that muhammad was prophesied as a prophet of god in the Bible....but that is untrue as you have just seen for yourself....if you want to know how to deal with this newfound information please see me other post How can I know for sure that I will go to Heaven when I die?

I have a Muslim friend trying to claim that the bible has been changed or corrupted over time, I have asked him to provide proof of his claims, I have yet to see any....now I know that many people don't want to believe the truth that the bible has in fact been miraculasly preserved over these thousands of years...BUT those who actually have an open mind about this, and actually really read through the evidence, you can see for yourself that there is historical and archeological evidence prooving that the bible has been preserved....God is All-knowing, and All-powerful, and He has protected the bible.

Question: "Has the Bible been corrupted, altered, edited, revised, or tampered with?"

Answer: The books of the Old Testament were written from approximately 1400 B.C. to 400 B.C. The books of the New Testament were written from approximately A.D. 40 to A.D. 90. So, anywhere between 3400 to 1900 years have passed since a book of the Bible was written. In this time, the original manuscripts have been lost. They very likely no longer exist. Also during this time, the books of the Bible have been copied again and again. Copies of copies of copies have been made. In view of this, can we still trust the Bible?

When God originally inspired men to write His Word, it was God-breathed and inerrant (2 Timothy 3:16-17; John 17:17). The Bible nowhere applies this to copies of the original manuscripts. As meticulous as scribes were with the replication of the Scriptures, no one is perfect. As a result, minor differences arose in the various copies of the Scriptures. Of all of the thousands of Greek and Hebrew manuscripts that are in existence, no two were identical until the printing press was invented in the A.D. 1500s.

However, any unbiased document scholar will agree that the Bible has been remarkably well-preserved over the centuries. Copies of the Bible dating to the 14th century A.D. are nearly identical in content to copies from the 3rd century A.D. When the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, scholars were shocked to see how similar they were to other ancient copies of the Old Testament, even though the Dead Sea Scrolls were hundreds of years older than anything previously discovered. Even many hardened skeptics and critics of the Bible admit that the Bible has been transmitted over the centuries far more accurately than any other ancient document.

There is absolutely no evidence that the Bible has been revised, edited, or tampered with in any systematic manner. The sheer volume of biblical manuscripts makes it simple to recognize any attempts to distort God’s Word. There is no major doctrine of the Bible that is put in doubt as a result of the minor differences that exist between manuscripts.

Again, the question, can we trust the Bible? Absolutely! God has preserved His Word despite the unintentional failings and intentional attacks of human beings. We can have utmost confidence that the Bible we have today is the same Bible that was originally written. The Bible is God’s Word, and we can trust it (2 Timothy 3:16; Matthew 5:18).





Many skeptics believe that the Bible has been drastically changed over the centuries. In reality, the Bible has been translated into a number of different languages (first Latin, then English and other languages, see History of the Bible). However, the ancient manuscripts (written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek) have been reliably copied over the centuries - with very few alterations.

Old Testament

How do we know the Bible has been kept in tact for over 2,000 years of copying? Before the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, our earliest Hebrew copy of the Old Testament was the Masoretic text, dating around 800 A.D. The Dead Sea Scrolls date to the time of Jesus and were copied by the Qumran community, a Jewish sect living around the Dead Sea. We also have the Septuagint which is a Greek translation of the Old Testament dating in the second century B.C. When we compare these texts which have an 800-1000 years gap between them we are amazed that 95% of the texts are identical with only minor variations and a few discrepancies.

New Testament

There are tens of thousands of manuscripts from the New Testament, in part or in whole, dating from the second century A.D. to the late fifteenth century, when the printing press was invented. These manuscripts have been found in Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Greece, and Italy, making collusion unlikely. The oldest manuscript, the John Rylands manuscript, has been dated to 125 A.D. and was found in Egypt, some distance from where the New Testament was originally composed in Asia Minor. Many early Christian papyri, discovered in 1935, have been dated to 150 A.D., and include the four gospels. The Papyrus Bodmer II, discovered in 1956, has been dated to 200 A.D., and contains 14 chapters and portions of the last seven chapters of the gospel of John. The Chester Beatty biblical papyri, discovered in 1931, has been dated to 200-250 A.D. and contains the Gospels, Acts, Paul's Epistles, and Revelation. The number of manuscripts is extensive compared to other ancient historical writings, such as Caesar's "Gallic Wars" (10 Greek manuscripts, the earliest 950 years after the original), the "Annals" of Tacitus (2 manuscripts, the earliest 950 years after the original), Livy (20 manuscripts, the earliest 350 years after the original), and Plato (7 manuscripts).

Thousands of early Christian writings and lexionaries (first and second century) cite verses from the New Testament. In fact, it is nearly possible to put together the entire New Testament just from early Christian writings. For example, the Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians (dated 95 A.D.) cites verses from the Gospels, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians, Titus, Hebrews, and 1 Peter. The letters of Ignatius (dated 115 A.D.) were written to several churches in Asia Minor and cites verses from Matthew, John, Romans, 1 & 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus. These letters indicate that the entire New Testament was written in the first century A.D. In addition, there is internal evidence for a first century date for the writing of the New Testament. The book of Acts ends abruptly with Paul in prison, awaiting trial (Acts 28:30-31 (1)). It is likely that Luke wrote Acts during this time, before Paul finally appeared before Nero. This would be about 62-63 A.D., meaning that Acts and Luke were written within thirty years of ministry and death of Jesus. Another internal evidence is that there is no mention of the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. Although Matthew, Mark and Luke record Jesus' prophecy that the temple and city would be destroyed within that generation (Matthew 24:1-2(2),Mark 13:1-2 (3), Luke 21:5-9,20-24,32(4)), no New Testament book refers to this event as having happened. If they had been written after 70 A.D., it is likely that letters written after 70 A.D. would have mentioned the fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy. As stated by Nelson Glueck, former president of the Jewish Theological Seminary in the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, and renowned Jewish archaeologist, "In my opinion, every book of the New Testament was written between the forties and eighties of the first century A.D."

Conclusion 

With all of the massive manuscript evidence you would think there would be massive discrepancies - just the opposite is true. New Testament manuscripts agree in 99.5% (5) of the text (compared to only 95% for the Iliad). Most of the discrepancies are in spelling and word order. A few words have been changed or added. There are two passages that are disputed but no discrepancy is of any doctrinal significance (i.e., none would alter basic Christian doctrine). Most Bibles include the options as footnotes when there are discrepancies. How could there be such accuracy over a period of 1,400 years of copying? Two reasons: The scribes that did the copying had meticulous methods for checking their copies for errors. 2) The Holy Spirit made sure we would have an accurate copy of God's word so we would not be deceived. The Mormons, theological liberals as well as other cults and false religions such as Islam that claim the Bible has been tampered with are completely proven false by the extensive, historical manuscript evidence.

I myself was shocked that the bible had the most ancient manuscripts found....but as you can see from the EVIDENCE the bible today and the ancient manuscripts agree 99.5%!!! that is amazing....that prooves just how awesome God is....

Light of the world

when we turn on a light in a dark room....the darkness flees, the room is bathed in light....


this same thing happens when someone meets Jesus for the first time...


Jesus says “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”  John 8:12


when a person meets Jesus for the first time, when they ask Him to come into their life and save them....their eyes are truly opened, Jesus is truly revealed to them, because Jesus is Light....and before we accept Jesus we are in the darkness of evil and sin....but when Jesus comes into our life, the darkness flees just as it does when we light a candle, or turn on a light....


our hearts are lit up with the light of Jesus, yes we make mistakes in our life....everyone does....BUT we know that Jesus forgives and we try harder not to do wrong because we want to make His light brighter in our lives....


so if you havent asked Jesus into your heart yet, you can't truly understand the feeling that someone gets when they choose Jesus [sorry to say] you will only know the peace, happiness and light that is felt and seen, when you make the choice to follow the Light of the World.....


now I'm not trying to guilt anyone into doing anything, haha....I am just addressing this fact, because I have heard people of muslim, hindu and even Jehovah witnesses say that oh yeah they know peace....but honestly they don't...because the Bible says "Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7


so Only by our faith in Jesus can we know true peace, no one else can truly understand that sort of peace....yes some people experiance some ammount of peace....but not the type of peace that God gives....His peace is beyond anything we can truly understand, and it can only come from Him. Jesus says “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid." John 14:27
So the world cannot give the Kind of Peace that Jesus talks about....


people are always talking about wanting world peace....Only Jesus can Give True Peace though.....


so if you want true peace, true happiness, and light in your life....just ask Jesus
